Since 2014, election of staff representatives takes
place on the same day throughout the country in the various structures which
have more than twenty employees. Thus, the Public Contracts Regulatory Agency
organized the election of its representatives on 1 March 2016 in the Banquet
Hall. Early in the morning, the stage was already set. Hosts and hostesses
responsible for welcoming the voters took their places and the material,
namely, the four transparent ballot boxes, ballot papers and two voting booths.
The voting was divided into two colleges based on socio-professional
categories. The first college consisted of execution staff and drivers and the
second college consisted of senior and middle level staff.
Two lists were in competition, the "pink" list headed by the Sub-Director
in charge of Collection Terence GHAM
and the "green" list headed by the Assistant Research Officer, AYISSI Jean Daniel.
During her opening remarks, the Chair of the election organizing committee, the
Inspector General of Services, Madam
Catherine ENOUMEDI reminded staff representatives of their missions. After
that, the two top candidates had five minutes each to campaign before the ballot,
which was held under the supervision of a representative of the Ministry of
Labour and Social Security.
Elections began at the Head Office at 10 am and ended at 3 p.m. Just after the
polls closed, the Rapporteur General proceeded to count the ballots in the
presence of the staff. Out of the 74 who registered, 54 actually voted in the
first college. The green list headed by driver ABAH MBARGA got 27 votes just like the pink list headed by driver MVA Marcelin.
Out of 218 that registered, 190 participated in the election in the second college.
After the counting of ballots at the Head Office and Regional Centres, the
representative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security proclaimed the
results. The pink list headed by Terence
GHAM, the Sub-Director in charge of Collection won the vote and its
candidates are elected representatives and alternates for a term of two years.
