8 MARCH 2016: ARMP FAVOURABLE TO THE EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN

Yellow, purple! These were the two colours in which the ladies of the Public Contracts Regulatory Agency (ARMP) were proudly and elegantly clad on 8 March 2016 on the occasion of the celebration of the 31st edition of the International Women's Day. Indeed, together with the international community, Cameroon commemorated this women’s day on the theme adopted by the United Nations that is: " Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step it up for gender equality.”

As per tradition, the women of the ARMP marched on the 20 May 20 Boulevard in the group devoted to sovereignty, under the watchful eyes of the personal representative of the First Lady, Madam Marie-Thérèse ABENA ONDOA, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family.

This is an opportunity to recall that prior to the festivities marking the celebration of this 31st edition of the International Women's Day, a week of activities was organized at the Agency. On 2 March 2016, the Banquet Hall of ARMP was the setting for a panel discussion under the theme "Empowerment: Psychological weapon of women in the workplace", jointly organized by the Presidency of the Republic, the Supreme State Audit Services, the Ministry of Public Contracts, the Public Contracts Regulatory Agency, the Directorate General of External Research and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family.

It was attended by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Supreme State Audit Services, Madam Rose MBAH ACHA, the Director General of the ARMP, Mr. Joseph NGO and other special guests. Panelists were selected to discuss this topic such as the main speaker, the Deputy Director General of the Advanced Institute of Public Management (ISMP), Madam Viviane BIWOLE ONDOUA, the representative of MINPROFF and the moderator Madam Hermine NDOLO EPEE, who is also the Technical Adviser at ARMP.

On Thursday 3 March 2016, women participated in Zumba. The next day they attended the workshop on the introduction to the art of makeup in the Banquet Hall. On Monday 7 March 2016 the second edition of the gastronomic competition took place in the meeting room on the second floor in which five ladies competed. At the end, it was the candidate who prepared "Achu taro" who won this culinary competition. The climax was the 20 May Boulevard and after the remarkable march pass, the women met at the Head Office building for the traditional meal offered by the Director General
