The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea hereby launches an Urgent Open National Invitation to Tender for the Provision of Insurance Service to 10,000 Students of the University of Buea

The purpose of this insurance is to cover the liability of students registered in the University as well as cover them for expenses due to health, disability or death.

I: STUDENT CIVIL LIABILITY (RESPONSIBILITY)

a)      Physical Damages

b)      Material and resulting immaterial damages

c)      External lire

d)      External water damages

e)      Food poisoning

II: STUDENT PERSONAL ACCIDENT/INCAPACITY OR DEATH

a)      Physical Disability

b)      Accidenta) Death

c)      Medical Expenses to include hospitalization.

d)      Funeral expenses

III: ILLNESSES

a.     Consultation

b.      Specialist consultation

c.       Hospitalization/ day

d.      Surgical cases c. Medical Lab

f.       Nurse care

g.       HIV/AIDS under the National Program

h.      Pharmaceutical drugs — Generic, exceptionally

i.        Prescribed eye glasses

IV: Death (funeral expenses)

3. ORIGIN AND ELIGIBILITY

The tender is open to all Cameroonian Insurance companies registered by CIMA to specialize in the domains of insurance services cited in 2(I), 2(II) 2(III) and 2 ( IV) above.

The estimated cost after preliminary studies is 10,000,000 (ten million) francs CFA including taxes

Tender documents can be obtained during working hours al the Secretariat of the Development Office, Room 211, Central Administration Building, University of Buea, upon presentation of a receipt of a non-refundable fee of 17,000 (seventeen thousand) CFA francs to the special ARMP account^,N°. 97568660001-28 ai BICEC.

Bidders must submit their bids in seven copies (one original and six copies) to the Development Office of the University of Buea, located in Room 211 of the Central Administration Building by 12.00 midday. on 07/01/2025. Bids shall NOT be received after this date. The bids should be addressed to The Vice-Chancellor, University of Buea, P.O. Box 63, Buea. The khaki brown envelope containing the bids should be marked on the top right band corner;

The maximum deadline provided for by the Contracting Authority for the execution of this phase of die project shall be one year.

Each bidder must include in his Administrative Documents, a bid bond of 200,000 (two hundred thousand) FCFA. It should be issued by a bank recognized by the Ministry of Finance, as specified in Document 11 of this tender file. Administrative documents must be less than three months old and must not be signed after submission of the bids. Only originals or copies certified by the competent administrative authorities (Senior Divisional Officers, Divisional Officer, etc,) including the bid bond, should imperatively be produced. Bids which fail to comply with this requirement will be rejected.

Any bid which does not conform to the prescription of this invitation to tender shall be declared inadmissible. Particularly, the absence of the bid bond shall lead to a pure and simple rejection of the bid without any appeal being entertained

Bids shall be opened in two phases. The first phase shall be on 07/01/2025 at 01.00 p.m by the University of Buea Tenders Board in the Conference Room of the Central Administration Building of the University of Buea, in the presence of the bidders or their duly authorized representatives who should have a perfect mastery of the bids.

The contract shah be awarded on the basis of the best bid using the combination of Technical and financial criteria

Bidders shah be bound by their bids for a period of ninety (90) days with effect from the tender submission deadline
